Albertans are requested to limit outdoor activities such as backcountry camping, mountain biking, and hiking in areas including Edson, Grand Prairie, High Level, Peace River, Slave Lake, Whitecourt, and north of Highway 11 in the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area.
Several provincial parks and recreation areas, including Young’s Point, Williamson, Smoke Lake, Saskatoon Island, Winagami Lake, Brazeau Reservoir, Two Lakes, Iosegun Lake, Waskahigan River, Blue Rapids, Minnow Lake, and Wolf Lake West, are closed until further notice.
Numerous road advisories and closures are in effect for north and central Alberta, with updates available on 511.alberta.ca.
The current wildfire status can be found on the Alberta Wildfire Status Dashboard.
Albertans are advised to monitor firesmoke.ca to track wildfire smoke’s origin affecting their areas, given the ongoing poor air quality.
The recreational use of off-highway vehicles is prohibited on all public lands, including on designated OHV trails. Fire bans and OHV restrictions details can be found at albertafirebans.ca.
