Canada is the first Walmart market outside the United States to get Walmart+. The program builds on Walmart Canada’s Delivery Pass, which launched in 2023 at the same annual price. Existing Delivery Pass members will automatically move over to Walmart+.

Membership is $8.97 per month or $89 per year. At launch, it includes unlimited same-day delivery from stores on orders over $35, free shipping with no order minimum on thousands of items from Walmart.ca and the Walmart app, and a subscription to Crave Standard with Ads.

Catherine Theberge-Conner, head of membership at Walmart Canada, said the program is aimed at Canadians, especially busy families, who want everyday shopping to be more convenient while still accessing Walmart’s prices.

The Crave benefit includes access to Crave Originals such as Heated Rivalry, Project Runway Canada and Shoresy, along with HBO and Max Originals, CTV and Noovo series, films and select live sports.

Walmart+ also keeps several shopping features already familiar to customers. Members can add items to a scheduled order up to three hours before their pickup or delivery window begins. They also get discounted Express Delivery, which arrives in two hours or less, along with free store pickup.

Andrew Go, vice-president of eCommerce and marketing at Walmart Canada, said the free shipping with no minimum order is being offered through Walmart+ for the first time.

New customers can start with a free 30-day trial.

Amazon Prime in Canada costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year.
