The annual festival, which celebrates Toronto’s waterfront, is the perfect event to say goodbye to summer and welcome the autumn season in the city.

Toronto Waterfront Festival
The Toronto Waterfront Festival is set to make a huge splash this weekend as the iconic Giant Rubber Duck makes its triumphant return to the event.
Mama Duck, as she is affectionately known, captivated over 750,000 visitors in 2017 during her inaugural appearance.
However, Mama Duck won’t be the sole star of the show. The 2023 festival will also see the triumphant return of the Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Navy. In keeping with the grand theme of the event, which centers around the return of the World’s Largest Rubber Duck, presented by Clorox, the Canadian Armed Forces will roll in with two colossal vehicles, each weighing over a whopping 45,000 pounds.
Here are some of the exciting activities and highlights that festival-goers can look forward to:
- Giant Rubber Duck Returns: Mama Duck, the World’s Largest Rubber Duck, will nest on land at 7 Queens Quay East, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with this iconic inflatable marvel. This year’s version of Mama Duck is new and improved, requiring a specific setup that makes on-land nesting the ideal choice.
- Military Showcase: Visitors are invited to explore the Canadian Army’s Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV) 6.0 and Tactical Armoured Patrol Vehicle (TAPV). They can also meet the crews, hear about their experiences, and get an up-close look at military gear, gaining insights into life as a military member.
- Royal Canadian Navy: The Royal Canadian Navy will be back with both on-land and on-water activations. Highlights include the HMCS Oriole sail training vessel, which is celebrating its remarkable 102nd anniversary. Attendees can also interact with the Navy’s mascot SONAR and explore their equipment.
- Entertainment Extravaganza: Roaming and pop-up entertainment presented by Redpath Sugar will keep visitors entertained throughout the festival.
- Billy Bishop Airport Picnic Lounge: Relax and enjoy the festival atmosphere at the Billy Bishop Airport Picnic Lounge.
- Free Giveaways and Activities: Festival partners, including Menkes and Waterfront BIA, will offer free giveaways and engaging activities for all.
- Family Fun: Live Green Toronto will host crafts and games for kids and families, ensuring a day of entertainment for everyone.
- Interactive Photo Areas: Explore fun interactive photo areas provided by Queens Quay Terminal, Florida Orange Juice, and Toronto Regional Real Estate Board.
- Culinary Delights: Satisfy your taste buds with a variety of delectable dishes from local food trucks and vendors.
