The Toronto Public Library (TPL) and the CN Tower are collaborating to enhance the cultural engagements for the city’s residents. Through the TPL’s tpl:map program, individuals possessing a valid adult library card can now gain free entry to the CN Tower.
This new addition allows cardholders to reserve passes much like borrowing a book, starting from May 16.
The CN Tower, standing at 553.33 meters, attracts over 1.8 million visitors annually.
Launched in 2007, the tpl:map program, previously known as the Museum + Arts Pass program, has shown significant growth.
It has facilitated over a million pass borrowings, contributing to increased visitor numbers at the participating venues. The program now includes various attractions such as the Aga Khan Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, and more, with varied admission conditions.

How to Visit Attractions for free with tpl:map pass?
To obtain a pass, users must log onto the tpl.ca/map website, use their library credentials to navigate the reservation system, and choose from available dates and venues. Each pass is specific to a date and, for some venues, a particular time.
Once a pass is reserved, it can be downloaded or printed but cannot be cancelled. Passes are valid only during the operating hours of the chosen attraction, and the individual who booked must be present with their library card and ID to gain entry.
Attractions vary, with some offering general admission and others available only for specific performances. Pass availability is limited, and passes are issued on a first-come, first-served basis at the start of each month for the following month. Restrictions include a limit of one pass per attraction per year and only one active reservation at a time.
Various reasons, such as high demand or existing reservations, may temporarily prevent further bookings.
