Many of Alberta’s music and arts festivals are excited to be returning for the summer of 2022. Some festivals had a long hiatus and are preparing to bring you weekends of live music all summer long. These Alberta music festivals span from early June to late August and cover a huge variety of musical genres.
Calgary Folk Music Festival
Both Edmonton and Calgary are bringing back their premiere outdoor experiences for the summer with YYC’s Chasing Summer, and YEG’s Folk Fest. And from northern Alberta to southern Alberta, and east to west, are many other small-city and small-town festivals covering country, rock, blues, jazz, EDM, folk, and/or metal music.

Pembina River Nights
You can catch two evenings of live music in Evansburg in early summer at the Pembina River Nights festival. Camping is available to help make your festival experience more convenient, and a little more fun with access to river swimming and nighttime fires! The lineup includes upbeat rock, country, folk, and more.

Bear Creek Folk Festival
There will be 30+ artists to see perform live at Grande Prairie’s Bear Creek Folk Fest. Headliners within those include Serena Ryder and Steve Earle. The show’s setup allows you to sit back and relax on the hill on a warm summer night with soulful and electric performances.

Inter.Sect Art & Music Festival
This three-day-long celebration of Canadian art and music takes places in High Prairie with a focus on EDM, hip-hop, and down-tempo genres. The festival hosts two stages, regular camping, and quiet camping areas. This also means it is a family-friendly event!

Bro-Tel Backyard Festival

Beaumont Blues & Roots Festival
Stay tuned March 1st for the lineup announcement from the Blues & Roots Festival in Beaumont. The annual music festival takes place in a scenic prairie park where you can relax under the live music, dance for hours, or relax at your campsite.

Ravenwood Music Festival
The Ravenwood Music Festival offers an entire day of music in the park, where you can lounge and enjoy the sounds of local talents. The afternoon begins with local youth performers and builds until the Shred Kelley headliners at night.

Edmonton’s biggest summer festival boasts 10 days of exciting and eclectic performers. Though the festival is yet to announce 2022 artists, but rest assured, you can enjoy chart topping performances for the general admission fee.

Edmonton Folk Music Festival
The Folk Fest returns to Edmonton’s Gallagher Park Hill in August 2022, with ticket information yet to be released. You can keep up with festival news via the website’s newsletter, or Folk Fest’s social media. What is for sure is that Folk Fest will be back and in-person in downtown Edmonton this summer.

Edmonton Blues Festival
One special feature of Edmonton’s annual Blues Festival is they are going to bring back many artists which couldn’t play for the cancelled 2020 year! A second cool feature is that this will be the festival’s last year in Hawrelak Park, for a while anyways, as the park is set to close for renovations in 2023. Tickets are on sale now!
