What is the most exciting part about summers in Alberta? Many would argue the weather and all we can do with the sunny warmth. But many would also argue that the most exciting part about summer here is the festivals! From cities to small towns, there is an abundance of festivals to check out, including music festivals. Alberta’s summer music festivals offer a genre for all tastes and preferences and a variety of unique experiences.
These summer music festivals in Alberta can offer folk, country, alt-rock, metal, classic rock, jazz, roots and blues, hip hop, rap, EDM/house, and every sub-genre in between.
Headliner Concert Tours:
K-Days and Calgary Stampede, which feature concerts by well-known artists as a significant part of their events, are not included.
Northern Alberta
North Country Fair
Driftpile’s North Country Fair focuses on celebrating the summer solstice and the beginning of the season! The festival has an adults-only campground and a family-friendly campground. And beyond the music stage, there will be a fair and children’s activities, and a large artisan market.

Beaumont Music Festival
Beaumont Music Festival have some major artists appearing in 2025. And the festival offers onsite camping to make your festival experience a bit more convenient.

Ravenwood Music Festival

TD Edmonton International Jazz Festival

Blueberry Bluegrass Festival
Stony Plain’s Blueberry Bluegrass Festival will take place over three days this year! And on top of live performances and music, the festival will also host workshops, jamming circles, food trucks, and a market of local vendors.
The 2025 lineup for the Bluegrass Festival include Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road, The Rick Faris Band, Seth Mulder & Midnight Run, The Slocan Ramblers, Magnus Wiik, 9th Avenue All Stars, The Barefoot Movement, Calvin Vollrath, The Kevin Prater Band, JigJam, Ben Sures, and Under The Rocks. Edmonton Folk Music Festival
Folk Fest in Edmonton always guarantees a great time on Gallagher Hill, where guests can set up blankets and watch the sun go down over Edmonton. The festival is a combination of international and local performers.
Mt. Joy will be headlining the Festival on Sunday, August 10.

Pembina River Nights
What better venue for a music festival than the shady and green shores of one of Alberta’s rivers? The annual Pembina River Nights (Evansburg) offers two full evenings of live music outside, on the river’s shores. The festival has camping available for both nights and is included in the price of passes. Pembina River Nights guests have access to a small beach on the river, washrooms, and firewood. The lineup has a huge variety of musical genres from local performers.

Wild Mountain Music Festival
Hinton’s Wild Mountain Music Festival do not have their full lineup yet; however, they do have some exciting headliners already scheduled. These include the Gord Bamford, The Sheepdogs, Romi Mayes, Celiegh Cardinal and many more! You can stay the entire weekend in the campground, with the festival even offering tents for rent.

Shady Grove Blue Grass Music Festival
The annual Shady Grove Blue Grass Festival will have three days of live music in 2025. The lineup is set to include all the best in Canada’s bluegrass musical talent. Blue Suede Music Festival
Celebrate the king of rock and roll this summer with Westlock’s Blue Suede Music Festival. Big Valley Jamboree
BVJ always promises a big lineup of country music acts, and this year is no different. The 2025 Big Valley Jamboree is already selling up tickets for both general weekend passes and the campground. Friendzy Fest

WayneStock
The Rosedeer Hotel, built in 1913 and home to the Last Chance Saloon and restaurant, hosts WayneStock, a three-day music festival over Labour Day weekend. While the lineup is not yet known, the festival is known for its intimate atmosphere which draws festival goers year after year.
