Weaselhead Pink and Red Trail Loop

Head to Weaselhead Flats for this awesome trail. It’s 5 kilometers and takes you through a beautiful area of Calgary including the Elbow River, the Glenmore Reservoir, and lots of awesome trees. It’s also a great cross-country ski spot in the winter.

Paskapoo Slopes From Cougar Ridge
Head from the Cougar Ridge community into Paskapoo on your mountain bike or on foot (just know there are a lot of bikers). This 3.4 kilometer loop will take you through some great greenery and unpaved paths. Take a walk on the wild side with this stunning trail.

An out and back trail along the Bow River, this lovely trail has a lot of trees and peaceful spots. It’s 5.8 kilometers and takes you on a scenic trip through Southwest Calgary.

The Christmas Tree Trail is a loop in Edworthy Park. It’s 2.1 kilometers around and takes you along the Bow River in the Southwest, and into the park. Sue Higgins Park Loop
The Sue Higgins Park is home to a large pathway that stretches beside Deerfoot Trail in the south. There’s a large off-leash park in the middle, so bring your furry pals along. There are some lovely stops along the Bow River. It’s mostly paved and well maintained.

This is a 6.3 kilometer loop that takes you on either side of the Bow River. You’ll get some epic views and some fresh air, right here in the city. You can have a dog on a leash, so grab your friends and head for a beautiful walk!

If you’re looking for a longer hike, check out this nearly 21 kilometer path that takes you along the Elbow River. This walk is doable by people of all ages. It’s often used as a bike path, so keep an eye out, or jump on our own bicycle!

This is a great mix of paved and gravel paths for you to explore! It’s a 9 kilometer path, but it can be shortened or made longer with the intricate pathway system. It takes you through the Votier Flats section of Fish Creek Provincial Park.

Pearce Estate Park
Let yourself be guided through a tranquil wetland in the middle of the city at Pearce Estate. A signed interpretive trail guides you through a constructed wetland filled with native plants and animals. The signs tell how the wetland came to be and describes the wildlife seen around you.

This one is for the mountain bikers! Bring your bike and take this 4.3 kilometer loop for a ride. Near the Calgary Olympic Park, the Eastlands Loop has forest views and fun paths. This is not a dog friendly path.

Hit up Stoney Trail, named after the nearby freeway. It takes you along an unpaved path that can be muddy when it’s been raining. When it’s nice, you can see wildflowers and people walking their dogs or riding their bikes on this 5.6 kilometer trail.

This is an awesome one for you and your dog. It heads through an off-leash park on a 2.7 kilometer loop. You can get some pretty great views of the Elbow River and downtown Calgary. There’s lots of room for throwing the ball around and meeting other pooches!

At nearly 7 kilometers, this hike around Griffith Woods is the perfect pick-me-up on a gloomy day. It’s a great loop that allows you to see a lot of different parts of Calgary, including Elbow River and part of the Discovery Ridge neighbourhood. There are plenty of other trails to choose from in this area.
