There are incredible thrills and adventures hiding right in the heart of Calgary.
At Winsport’s Canada Olympic Park, there are several of these thrilling experiences scheduled for their summer season. Winsport can have you soaring downhills in more ways than one or can provide more relaxing activities more suited to younger kids.
1. Ride the Monster Zipline
You know the giant ski jump sticking out of the hill, the one that tells you where in Calgary to find Winsport? For summer, that jump is the park’s Monster Zipline which runs on a 500-m track, and can reach speeds of up to 120km/hour. Kids must be 10 years or older to ride.
When: opens May 21, 2022
How much: $95 per person
2. Speed Down the Summer Bobsleigh
A summer bobsled ride is a lot like a roller coaster in terms of speed, thrills, and fun. The Winsport bobsleighs can take you down the hills and around the turns at speeds of up to 80km/hour! Kids must be 14 years or older to ride.
When: opens May 21, 2022

3. Downhill Karting
Skyline Luge and Winsport worked together to bring us a thrilling downhill adventure with their karting course. The paved course winds down a hill for a total of 1.8km and includes 50 different turns. The ride is powered by gravity, meaning the hill does all the acceleration work while you focus on steering and braking.
When: opens May 21, 2022
How much: $25 per two downhill rides
4. Mountain Biking
This mountain bike park is a unique opportunity for rides to have lift-accessed riding right in the city. Once you’re at the top you have 14 downhill course options among 9-acres of space. The park also hosts a Terrain and Skills section if you’d like to add some finesse to your riding.
When: opens June 11, 2022
How much: season passes $65-269
5. Ride the ’88 Express
The park’s chairlift, the ’88 Express, remains open for summer so visitors can get an unbeatable view of the Rockies, and the Calgary skyline all at once. This tall ride will also give you great views of the entire Winsport Park grounds, and possibilities for epic sunrises over the foothills and mountains.

Fill up on Food of all Kinds
After all the adventures in your day, or for energy during all the fun, the park offers a variety of dining options. You can choose from Winsport Hockey House, Garden Café, Snack Shack, Eightyeight Bar & Grill, Coffee Market, and Food Court options.
Tickets for each attraction need to be purchased separately or purchase an Adrenaline Combo for access to multiple activities at a discounted rate.
Before the year 2020, Winsport offered bungee jumping from one of the ski jump towers and a children’s area with a climbing wall, spiderweb, and Eurobungy. Though, they have not yet announced a 2022 return of these facilities, there is a high chance that more summer activities will be announced as the pandemic is behind us (hopefully!).
