One such adventure that many do not know about is the “Monster Zipline“.
The iconic ski jump at the venue of the 1988 Winter Olympics is home to Western Canada’s fastest zipline, named Monster Zipline, which can reach a speed up to 120 km/h with a vertical drop of more than 100 metres.
A trip on the zipline will have you zooming on the 500 metres long line from the upper ski jump to an eight-storey tower while enjoying incredible views of the Bow River valley and northwest Calgary.
The whole experience which takes about an hour consists of 3 ziplines – you can practise the correct zipline technique on the trainer line, then take a ride on the Monster line and the eight-storey Plaza zipline back to the base.
The Monster Zipline opens for the 2022 season on May 21st. The Monster Zipline will be open Saturdays and Sundays until the end of June, then will be open weekdays starting in July.
Riders must be aged 14 or above and weigh between 75 lbs/34 kg and 250 lbs/114 kg.
Downhill karting and summer bobsleigh also reopens on Victoria Day weekend.
