Air Canada has just revealed its plans to launch non-stop, year-round service between Toronto and Yellowknife starting in December.
This new route, operating three times a week, will provide convenient connections between eastern Canada and the capital of the Northwest Territories. Passengers will also have the option to seamlessly connect onward from Yellowknife through Air Canada’s interline partner, Canadian North.
Scheduled to begin on December 1, 2023, the service will be operated using Canadian-made Airbus A220 aircraft.
The aircraft will feature a configuration of 137 seats in a Business and Economy cabin, complete with onboard Wi-Fi and seatback entertainment systems offering hundreds of hours of content and live TV at every seat.
Travellers will have the opportunity to earn and redeem Aeroplan points, while eligible customers will enjoy premium services such as priority boarding, baggage handling, and access to the Maple Leaf Lounge in Toronto.
Here are the flight details:
- AC1169: Departs Toronto at 21:00, arrives in Yellowknife at 23:54 (Tuesday, Friday, Sunday)
- AC1168: Departs Yellowknife at 00:50, arrives in Toronto at 7:20 (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday)
The new service will complement Air Canada’s existing flight options, including twice-daily service between Yellowknife and Vancouver, as well as daily service between Yellowknife and Edmonton.
Passengers connecting beyond Yellowknife will benefit from Air Canada’s bilateral interline agreement with Canadian North. This agreement allows for seamless travel on a single, through-checked ticket, including baggage transfer. Canadian North offers destinations such as Cambridge Bay, Fort Simpson, Hay River, Gjoa Haven, Taoloyoak, and Inuvik. Travellers flying with Canadian North can earn and redeem Aeroplan points.
