Alberta reported 1,076 new COVID-19 cases on August 25th, the highest daily case count recorded since May 15, 2021.
The number of people hospitalized and in intensive care is also increasing rapidly.
Currently, there are 8496 active cases across Alberta. There are 284 people being treated in hospital for COVID with 59 in intensive care units. The positivity rate was 9.1 per cent.

Unvaccinated Albertans continue to make up the vast majority of hospitalizations. 79.08 % of the new cases are unvaccinated or partially against COVID-19. Of the 284 in hospital and treated for COVID-19, 16.2% are fully vaccinated.
Of the 59 in ICU, 95% are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.
