Calgary Expo kicks off with POW! Parade of Wonders, a cosplay parade celebrating pop culture and creativity.
Presented by Calgary Expo and Downtown Calgary Association, the parade begins at 8th Ave and 8th St, and travels down Stephen Avenue, concluding at Olympic Plaza for the Calgary Expo Opening Ceremony.
If you are interested in marching in the parade, you can do so – if are ready to be decked out in a full costume. Registration is free and is now open.
If you rather watch the event, then line up along the parade route to watch thousands of incredible cosplayers and a few celebrity guests of the Expo.
POW! Parade of Wonders is also Canada’s largest parade of its kind with thousands of cosplayers and spectators celebrating fandom.

What: The POW! Parade of Wonders is a cosplay parade celebrating pop culture and creativity in Calgary’s downtown, and the official kick-off to the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo! It’s free to watch or participate as a parade-er, but there is a catch … to walk in the parade you MUST be decked out in cosplay. Expo goers and downtown office workers alike get involved and join in on the fun and witness this unique event. Join us!

Where: Stephen Avenue and Olympic Plaza, 228 8 Ave SW, Calgary
How Much: Free
All ages in full cosplay/costume are welcomed and all participants under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
