The steak option will be available at more than 60 Canadian restaurants, but only for a limited period.

First launched in 2019, Carne Asada has appeared on the menu three previous times. The upcoming rollout marks its fourth return. The protein has remained a top request among customers, ranking as Chipotle’s most-searched limited-time offering on Google in 2024 and second overall across all national restaurant brands.

The dish is prepared with steak marinated and grilled with a spice mix that includes cumin, coriander, garlic and oregano. It is then finished with lime and cilantro. Per the news release, each serving provides 29 grams of protein and is suitable for Whole30, Keto and Paleo diets.

Chipotle’s Vice President of Culinary, Nevielle Panthaky, highlighted Carne Asada’s compatibility with burritos, suggesting it alongside rice, beans and salsa.

To accompany the relaunch, Chipotle is offering a delivery promotion. From September 8 to 30, customers ordering Carne Asada through the Chipotle app or website in the U.S. and Canada will not be charged a delivery fee, provided orders meet a $10 USD or $12 CAD minimum. Terms exclude catering and third-party delivery platforms, and the company noted higher menu prices and service fees may still apply.
