Escape on a musical vacation through Italy, featuring music spanning the centuries. Paganini’s virtuoso Violin Concerto No. 1 is a dazzling showcase for Ottawa’s Kerson Leong, brimming over with devilish difficulties that stretch the boundaries of the instrument.
Respighi’s La boutique fantasque transforms Rossini’s amusing piano music into a magical ballet suite where the objects in a mysterious boutique come to life. The familiar William Tell Overture never gets old or disappoints, and Elisabetta Brusa’s Messidor, inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream, is an enchanting experience.
This concert will include an intermission.
Prelude
Patrons of this event are invited to attend a prelude presentation before this concert on Saturday, November 15, starting at 6:45 PM in the Upper Circle Lobby (3rd Floor). This talk by Natalie Boisvert is a fantastic way to learn more about the pieces being performed in your concert.
