Join Eldon House’s Grounds and Gardens Coordinator, Kendal Davidson, in creating your very own Christmas Greenery Centerpiece, a classic Victorian tradition.
The practice of bringing live greenery into the home for the winter was a common European tradition that continued when brought over to Canada during the 1800s.
Wreaths, bows, and table displays were formed with seasonal plants such as cedar, pine, ivy, and dried flowers adorned with berries or dried fruit such as oranges and apples.
This custom continues to this day and Eldon House encourages you to come and craft your very own holiday centerpiece to brighten up your home this season.
