PlayEscapes is an inclusive summer program offered by the City of Regina which offers leader-facilitated play opportunities to help develop and foster life skills, creativity, imagination, positive self-image and promote a physically active lifestyle. Self-directed play is the key to the PlayEscapes program where children engage in play they select by themselves and are encouraged to explore and discover.
Lunches will be available at select locations and will be provided by Regina Education and Action on Child Hunger (REACH) and Chili for Children.
PlayEscapes is for all children entering Kindergarten (must be 5 years old by December 31, 2021) through Grade 7. PlayEscapes welcomes children and youth of all abilities. Due to the number of participants, we ask that the individuals requiring one-on-one support/assistance please bring a support person/attendant.
To comply with public health requirements and ensure safety for all participants, their families, and City staff, modifications have been made to the program, including:
- enhanced cleaning and sanitizing measures;
- introduction of games and activities that incorporate social distancing protocols and minimize contact between participants and with staff;
- maximum of 8 participants per site; and
- designated zones for drop-off and pick-up.
While typically a drop-in program, to adapt to current public health guidelines related to COVID-19, pre-registration is now required. Participants may register for one 2-week block. If you wish to register for more, please get added to the waitlist by calling 306-777-7529. If spaces are still available after the start date, we will allow participant to register for additional weeks.
How to get tickets?
Call the City of Regina PlayLine at 306-777-PLAY (7529) to register or to be added to the waitlist.
After registering, please complete a Waiver and a Participant Information Form with Photo Release and return it to the program location on the first day your child(ren) attends PlayEscapes.
