About Art Gallery of Regina , Saskatchewan, Canada

The Gallery was first opened in 1974 as a branch of the MacKenzie Gallery to reflect regional art works and to encourage local artists and to help them connect with their audience.It was then called the Rosemont Art Gallery. An independent non-profit society was formed in 1976, which together with the City of Regina took over the gallery space in 1984.

Currently located in the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre, the Art Gallery of Regina show cases contemporary art work of mostly Saskatchewan artists.

The gallery holds various art exhibitions, public education programs including informational and hands-on workshops, lectures, visiting artist events, and demonstrations.

The art talks held at the Gallery are great venues for encouraging new home-grown artists. Art lovers can join for an evening of discussions as the artists introduce themselves and their practice to the community.

The workshops held at the Gallery are great places for art lovers/artists to learn new techniques or to hone one’s skills.

The Gallery also presents a series of open-access exhibitions Outside the Box (in the hallway) and in the members’ Showcase.

The Neil Balkwill Civic Art Centre is located along Wascana Creek in Regina’s Les Sherman Park at the junction of College Avenue and Elphinstone Street.
Access to the parking lot is available from 15th Avenue and McTavish Street.
