Learn the basics of identifying the most common winter birds!

Take in a short presentation and learn the ins and outs of identifying common winter birds around FortWhyte Alive, then head out on a walk with an experienced birder to identify the birds you see! You will gain the basic knowledge to be able to continue the bird count in your own backyard!
The Christmas Bird Count is North America’s longest-running Citizen Science project with more than 2000 locations throughout the Western Hemisphere participating each year.

This event is NOT an official count location but will provide you with the information you need to participate in the future.
