Events Description

Freeze Frame, the International Film Festival for Kids of All Ages was created to provide young people in Manitoba access to quality films and videos from around the world. Freeze Frame selects films and videos that will entertain and challenge children and youth by exploring situations and issues not normally explored in mainstream media. While most countries produce quality movies and television programs for youth, these productions are rarely seen by the general public. Freeze Frame brings these films and videos to Manitoba because they are a window into other cultures and allow us to explore new or unfamiliar storytelling and filmmaking styles.

Freeze Frame COVID-Safe Practices

Freeze Frame continues to closely monitor the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak across Canada and around the world. We are monitoring the advice and recommendations put forward by Manitoba Health, Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), and the World Health Organization (WHO) on the development of protocols and steps that help to keep you, your families and our partners and stakeholders healthy. We are pleased to offer summer workshops with additional health and safety precautions in place.

For 2020/2021, Freeze Frame has made a number of changes to allow young people to explore the world of film in a safe and socially distanced manner. For the first time, our Freeze Frame International Film Festival for Children of All Ages will be available to view online. And Freeze Frame also has online film making workshops available to those in schools and at home throughout the province.
