Step inside Lower Fort Garry after dark for a walking tour that tells the ‘real, true’ ghost stories experienced over the past 195 years. Follow in the footsteps of those who lived and died within these stone walls, listen to stories that unveil the dark past; discover unexplained phenomena; visit locations where disturbing and significant events have taken place and are still haunted….
This will be a 90 minute walking tour where your personal guide will tell ghost stories throughout the site. These stories are those encountered by residents, staff, volunteers and guests over the years. Stories are unsettling and include tales of murder, drinking, and suicide. We do not recommend those under 10 years of age attend.
At the end of the tour, decompress at the Thirsty Beaver Tavern in the historic Men’s House – have a beverage, buy a snack and share your ghost stories at Lower Fort Garry.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This is an outdoor event! PLEASE DRESS ACCORDINGLY. It WILL be chilly outside in October.
There will be 90 minutes of walking and standing – there will be stairs and minor hills on a gravel path. Limited seating available.
If you have mobility issues, please message us first so we can recommend a stair free/limited tour.
We have sold out every year for the past five years – buy your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Flashlights are permitted to carry along, but we ask that you do not use them unless an emergency arises.
There may be spirits and spooks around the site. No one will touch you, no one will chase you, but we cannot guarantee you won’t be startled!
This is not a haunted house. It is a walking tour with ghost stories.
We will run rain, snow, or moonlight unless severe weather. Cancellations will occur via email and on our social media pages (@FriendsLFG).
There will be no refunds – however, you can give your ticket to another person – please email us at least 48 hours in advance.
Your ticket supports the Friends of Lower Fort Garry in preserving Canada’s natural and cultural heritage and creating educational, sensory experiences for Manitobans and future generations. 🌙
