About Manitoba Children’s Museum

The Children’s Museum is housed in the oldest surviving train repair facility, built 1889, in Western Canada.

 

What to Do at Manitoba Children’s Museum?

Nurture the imagination of your children at the Manitoba Children’s Museum. With twelve permanent galleries presenting various displays and interactive activities, this Museum is a treasure trove of learning and fun. The Permanent Galleries are: The Engine House, Illusion Tunnel, Junction 9161, Lasagna Lookout, Mellow Marsh, Milk Machine, Pop M’art, Splash Lab, Story Line, Time Squared, Tot Spot, Tumble Zone.

Kids are going to love the milking machine and climbing and exploring the various displays. Build your own cityscape, go on a ride as you enjoy the outerspace to the deep sea, learn how to run a train, and more. Be sure to check out this place as they also host travelling exhibitions from time to time.

The museum also conducts Spring & Summer Day Camps and hosts birthday parties.

Hours: Sunday – Thursday | 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday – Saturday | 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Extended Summer Hours: July 1 – September 5 | Daily | 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Closed for 4 days immediately following Labour Day and December 24 & 25.

Free parking is available at The Forks.

There is excellent public transit service via Winnipeg Transit to The Forks site.

Parking: Daily, hourly, and free three-hour parking – including identified handicap stalls close to all facilities – for Forks visitors. Bicycle commuters can find free bicycle parking at a number of locations around The Forks.

Change tables and an area for snacks are provided. Snacks and beverages are available for purchase at Shop and the Beanstalk coffee bar. For full meals, there are several restaurants located on site at The Forks.
