Edmonton Invites Public Input as the City Keeps Indoor Mask Mandate

The city of Edmonton is seeking inputs from residents on the continuation of the Temporary Mandatory Face Covering Bylaw.

Alberta’s capital city has announced that it will retain mandatory masks by law despite the province lifting the indoor mask mandate except in high-risk areas including hospitals and public transit effective March 1st.

The city is conducting an online survey to get Edmontonians’ perspectives on the mask mandate. The results of the survey which runs until March 7th will be used as input when Council members review the Bylaw. The date of the review is yet to be determined.

Alberta is moving to Step 2 of the Three-Stage Plan to Easing COVID-19 Measures tomorrow.

Most COVID-19 related restrictions including limits on social gatherings, capacity limits for large venues, remaining school requirements, screening of youth for activities, the mandatory work-from-home order and public masking requirements except in high-risk settings will be lifted on March 1st.

The city of Calgary has decided to repeal the Pandemic Face Covering Bylaw 63M2021 once the Province removes its requirement for indoor masking.

Drop the mandate why have edmonton mask if other cities don’t have to. If the mask are such a good idea why did so many people contract it. Sohi is just pissing off Kenny. Not good for edmonton. If people want to wear a mask then do it stop bitching about it.
