2. All Tchaikovsky
Jonathan Crow demonstrates the virtuosity, taste, and profound expressiveness that makes him the TSO’s outstanding Concertmaster, on this all-Tchaikovsky extravaganza. It also features the intense drama and soaring melodies of Symphony No. 6, the composer’s final masterwork. On December 2 and 3, the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra joins forces with the TSO in dances from Eugene Onegin, Tchaikovsky’s dramatic opera.

It was Jackie Evancho’ love of the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s “The Phantom of the Opera” that stirred the passion within her to begin singing and posting videos to YouTube. Jackie’s understanding of classical phrasing, her perfect pitch and diction continually allow her to tackle difficult music that is far beyond the ability of her peers.
