Current Weekend – Things to do this weekend in Toronto
I. Live Music & Concerts
1. James Bond: The Music
“The name’s Bond, James Bond…My globe-trotting adventures have inspired many of the most memorable pop songs and film scores of the last fifty-plus years: Goldfinger, Thunderball, Live and Let Die, Nobody Does it Better, Skyfall…the list goes on and on. I guarantee this concert will leave you thoroughly stirred but not at all shaken. —Cheers, 007.”
2. Hey Rosetta!
Second Sight, Hey Rosetta!’s first album in nearly four years represents the longest musical gestation in the band’s history. In part, the delay was due to the lengthy touring cycle following the success of their last album Seeds, which was short-listed for the Polaris Music Prize, and resulted in the band’s first JUNO nomination and a performance on the JUNO telecast. There was also the band’s determination to expand their sonic horizons.

7. Homesongs
Judith Lander invites you to join her, along with singer/pianist Ghislain Aucoin, for a night celebrating their very different Canadian experiences. Judith hails from Manitoba and Ghislain is an Acadian from New Brunswick. Judith reveals her composer side with songs of the prairies, while Ghislain brings his Acadian roots to the mix. Both join in with songs of Brel and a touch of Quebec. They are joined by bassist Tom Hazlitt.
8. Butler, Bernstein & The Hot 9
Our new jazz series “Katrina10 Years On” features Butler, Bernstein & The Hot 9, an artistic collaboration destined to happen.
