The Nutrien Fireworks Festival is this weekend!
The annual Labour Day weekend festival is back with family fun and grubs! This year’s fireworks display is presented by Fireworks Spectacular, a two-time winner of the Gold Jupiter Award at the Montreal International Fireworks Competition. Get ready for dazzling shows on both nights—each one unique, with its own blend of effects and music.
On Friday, August 29th, the festivities kick off at 5:00 pm with an extraordinary fireworks display at 9:30 pm, painting the night sky with brilliant colors and patterns. And that’s just the beginning! The festivities on Saturday, August 30th, start at 1:00 pm with the evening fireworks show at 9:30 pm.
Along with these incredible fireworks, you’ll also find vendors selling a range of locally-made goods. There will also be activities to partake in that people of all ages will enjoy. Many activities are happening in River Landing, the Traffic Bridge, and Market Square, so be sure to check everything out!

Bring your family down to the SGI Family Fun Zone at Market Square for a day of delight. Here, you can find Beeper the Clown, Petting Zoo, Bouncy Castles, game tables, and Saskatchewan Science Centre experiments. The excitement continues in Nasser Plaza, featuring entertainment from Balloon Funn, Smiley Face painting, Warman Wolverines, Sci Fi Camps, among others.
Over at SGI Safety Fair, one can learn how to improve safety for themselves, their homes, and their neighborhoods. There will be booths, activities, and demonstrations that offer resources on crime prevention, safety programs, and various products available in Saskatoon.
Meanwhile, at River Landing, immerse yourself in a Cultural Showcase with performances by Nrityati Performance Arts, Saskatoon Irish Dance, Latino Canadian Cultural Association, Linglong Chinese Dance Studio, and more.
Traffic Bridge will have many delicious food vendors to try, such as Smoke’s Poutinerie, Pops Shawarma, Big O’s Food Truck, The Frying Deutschmann, and Hawaiian Shaved Ice, among others.
But that’s not all! Prepare for the Community Face Off at Market Square & River Landing II, where city residents can compete in friendly games such as Giant Jenga, Axe Throwing, Lawn Darts, Glowing Ladder Ball, and Lawn Checkers. Teams will earn points for each activity they conquer, contributing to their overall score for the weekend. The winning team will seize the grand prize of $500, which can be used for their community association programs and events.
