Starting December 19, visitors to Mount Seymour Park in North Vancouver must reserve free vehicle day-use passes to access the park during the peak winter season.

The passes, intended to manage congestion and enhance visitor experiences, will be required daily through January 4, 2026. After this period, they will be required only on weekends and holidays until March 29, 2026. Passes are not needed after 4 p.m.
Passes can be reserved online beginning at 7 a.m., two days before a planned visit. Each pass is specific to parking in lots P1 and Lower P5 and is valid for a single time slot: 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can only book one pass per time slot each day. Parking lots and shuttle users without valid passes will be turned away.
Individuals arriving by foot, bicycle, or the Mount Seymour Resort shuttle do not need a pass. Holders of an Mt Seymour Ski Resort pass are also exempt. Backcountry campers require a pass only for their day of arrival, and group camping reservation holders must carry proof of their reservation, but do not need day-use passes.
Since cellphone service may be unavailable, the government says visitors will need to print or download onto their mobile device a copy of the pass before arriving at the park.
Over one million people visit Mount Seymour Park each year, renowned for its skiing, snowshoeing, and tubing facilities, as well as impressive views of the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley. The free pass system was introduced to mitigate overcrowding in popular areas.
BC Parks encourages visitors to cancel unused reservations to ensure availability for others. Passes cannot be transferred or rebooked for other dates or times.
