The company has already restored power to over 20,000 customers after its employees worked through the night.
Additional power outages and damage to the infrastructure are expected due to the potential flash freeze, strong winds, and snow expected to arrive later in the day.
Hydro Ottawa is reminding residents to stay away at least 10 meters (33 feet) from fallen power lines. They should not attempt to clear away any trees or branches touching a power line, and it is recommended to call 911 immediately, then Hydro Ottawa.
Residents are requested to report outages by calling the 24/7 outage hotline at 613-738-0188, online through their MyAccount customer portal, or the Hydro Ottawa mobile app.
The Outage Map will be updated every fifteen minutes, and customers can get the most current information about ongoing outages impacting 10 or more houses.
