Pumpkins After Dark has taken over the pathways of Borden Park with an incredible display of pumpkin carving skills.

The event enables you to take a spooky nighttime stroll through Borden to view a gallery of larger-than-life pumpkin art in all sorts of unique designs.

The family-friendly walk takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete; but take your time, as the pumpkin carving displays should be appreciated up-close, and from a distance. And there are over 6000 pumpkins to see!

These aren’t your run-of-the-mill jack-o-lanterns, though. While you will spot some classic pumpkin faces along your walk, you will also get to see the beautiful, funny, and terrifying exhibits made up of several, sometimes even dozens of pumpkins.

But before you embark on a Halloween tour of Borden Park, stop to enjoy the other fun activities at the entrance, browse the Halloween merch and glow goodies, and grab a warm Halloween drink.

Here are 3 ways to make the most of your trip:

The art is, of course, the feature of Pumpkins After Dark.

The carvings are created with such intricacy and attention to detail that it is a mind-blowing sight to see! Each display has its own vibe through the lighting, music, and other artistic enhancements.

The displays range from small, to life-sized, all the way to massive, and adults and kids alike will be able to spot some familiar characters in the carvings.

Carve or Buy Pumpkins

Before you head off on the trails, you and your kids or friends can carve your very own pumpkin to take home. The booth is set up with everything you need, and staff to help assist.

At the end of the walking tour is a large pumpkin store, too, with several available in a wide variety of styles.

Take inspiration from all the wonderful carvings you just saw and take a pumpkin home to create your own.

Arrive early for a sunset picnic at Borden

Borden Park is beautiful in the fall, and the large trees are only now starting to change colours.

There are many places to still have a picnic in the park, or areas to enjoy a walk, before you enter Pumpkins After Dark. It will also make for the perfect timing to enjoy the sunset and golden hour if the weather is clear.

The event takes up a large area of the park, but you can find tables and benches on the east side of the pool.
