Famous Vancouver based shoe designer, John Fluevog will be releasing a limited-edition shoe inspired by British Columbia’s chief provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry.
Designed with the permission of Dr. Henry, 100% of the pre-sale proceeds from ‘The Dr. Henry’ shoes will go to Food Banks BC. Dr Henry has also been seen wearing John Fluevog shoes during some of the daily COVID-19 briefings.
As per the news release, the shoe will be part of The Operetta collection and features patent leather accents, interlacing on the uppers. Dr. Henry’s own words,‘be kind, be calm and be safe’ is stamped onto the rootstock.
John Fluevog said, “At times like these, we’re so fortunate to have someone who is calm and comforting but direct, and positive but realistic, informing and educating us day to day. We always like to find ways to help, and to highlight those who are doing good in our world. To hear about and see that our admiration for Dr. Henry was mutual was just a beautiful cherry on top of an already great idea sundae.”
The Limited Edition Dr. Henry shoe will pre-sell later this month to support Food Banks BC.
We all have many reasons to be thankful for Dr. Bonnie Henry and this is one small way we’re expressing our gratitude! https://t.co/D9pSfCslwZ
