This event, set for December 2nd from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., marks a return to in-person celebrations after a hiatus due to virtual events and cancellations in previous years.
The open house, free and open to all, is an invitation to the public to visit the Legislative Building, often referred to as “the people’s building.”
“The open house is a long-standing tradition that welcomes Manitobans to the Legislative Building –the people’s building,” said Premier Wab Kinew in a news release.
“All are welcome to meet the elected officials who have the privilege of representing Manitobans year-round as we celebrate the start of the holiday season together.”
In addition to offering a chance for the community to meet with government officials, the event also supports charitable efforts.
In the spirit of community and giving, attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Christmas Cheer Board.
Per the news release, this event symbolizes a return to normalcy and community engagement, fostering a sense of unity and celebration among the people of Manitoba.
