McDonald’s Canada is renaming its Newmarket restaurant on Davis Drive to “McDavid’s” in honor of Connor McDavid’s overtime goal that secured Canada’s 3-2 victory over the United States in the 2025 4 Nations final.
The name change takes effect at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, and will last for one week.
The temporary renaming follows a commitment made during the 2024 hockey playoffs, when McDonald’s Canada pledged to rename a restaurant if McDavid played a key role in a championship win.

As part of the celebration, McDavid’s will keep the Big Mac-David burger on the menu for a little longer. The burger, a Double Big Mac with four beef patties and the classic Big Mac toppings, pays tribute to McDavid’s high-energy playing style.
Guests visiting the McDavid’s location on Davis Drive in Newmarket will be able to get a small order of World Famous Fries™ for just $0.97, available from Friday, February 28 until Sunday, March 2 (limit of five orders per customer).
McDavid, who grew up in Newmarket, honed his skills locally before rising to NHL stardom as captain of the Edmonton Oilers.
“At McDavid’s, we’re celebrating more than just a name change; we’re celebrating community pride and the sport that brings us all together. Honoring our hometown hero Connor McDavid and our team’s incredible win is a testament to our shared spirit here in Newmarket,” said Newmarket McDonald’s Canada Franchisee, Peter Miller in a news release.
Newmarket is not the only location of McDavid’s, Oilers captain has one in his home team city too at 10375 51 Ave NW, Edmonton.
