The favourite baby name for 2020 in Nova Scotia is — Oliver.
Nova Scotia’s vital statistics bureau says other top baby names this year included Olivia, Benjamin, William, Jack, Charlotte, Levi, Noah, Ivy and Ava.
The bureau says while most popular names remain consistent over the years a few new names are gaining in popularity.
They include names such as Luke, Evelyn and Thomas, with old favourites Henry and Nora making a comeback.
There have been 6,856 registered births in the province as of Dec. 29.
Charlotte was the top baby name last year.
Nova Scotia began formally registering births on Aug. 1, 1864 and the most popular names that year were Mary and John.
