The Lake Louise Ski Resort will open for the 2025/26 winter season on Tuesday, November 4, following a mix of natural snowfall, active snowmaking, and extensive work by resort crews.

Lake Louise Ski Resort
Lake Louise Ski Resort, located in the Banff National Park, will welcome visitors to its powdery slopes beginning at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. The Alberta resort, recognized as one of Canada’s top ski destinations, marks the beginning of the new season with early lift access and the announcement of a major terrain expansion set for completion in spring 2026.
The Juniper Express Chair will begin running on opening day, providing access to Easy Street, while the Grizzly Gondola is expected to start later in the week. A carpet lift in the Learning Area is also planned to open shortly after. As weather and snow conditions improve, more terrain and lifts will come online.
Two small terrain parks will be ready for skiers and snowboarders on Tuesday. One, located near the Pipestone Chair, will feature one or two jumps and a box, while the other on Easy Street will include two tubes, a rail, and three boxes.
Core services will also be available. The Snow School will operate with limited lessons, and Rentals & Repairs, the Retail Shop, and licensed daycare will be open. For dining, visitors can choose from the Lodge of Ten Peaks Cafeteria, Slopeside Coffee Bar, and the Powder Keg Lounge.
Early-season ticket discounts of up to 56% will be offered starting November 4, with pricing expected to adjust as more terrain becomes available. Discounted tickets can be purchased online in weekly blocks, while regular-priced tickets are also on sale for the main season running from December 1, 2025, to May 3, 2026.
Non-skiers can take a ride to the top of the mountain on the sightseeing gondola or book a guided sightseeing Snowshoe Tour (usually begins mid to late December) that will take you to some of the most breathtaking scenic vantage points in the Canadian Rockies. You can choose between a Wildlife Snowshoe Tour and a Night Snowshoe Tour in addition to their daytime tour.
There is also a Snow Tube Park (usually opens in December) where the whole family can enjoy a thrilling experience sliding and spinning down the snow-laden slope.
Looking ahead, the resort plans to debut Richardson’s Ridge, a 200-acre terrain expansion scheduled to open by early spring 2026. The new Richardson’s Ridge Express high-speed quad chair will access five new beginner and intermediate runs and natural glades with views over Pika Valley and Mt. Temple. The development marks the first phase of a multi-year project aimed at expanding terrain variety and family-friendly options.
Richardson’s Ridge builds on major investments over the past five years, including the Summit Quad, West Bowl, Juniper Express, and Pipestone Express Heated Bubble. Together, these projects represent one of the most significant growth periods in the resort’s history.
