Campers eager to spend time along the St. Lawrence River will soon be able to lock in their plans for the 2026 season.

Parks of the St. Lawrence says camping reservations open March 19, 2026, at 9 a.m., giving visitors the chance to book stays at nine waterfront campgrounds stretching from the 1000 Islands to the Quebec border. When the system opens, guests can reserve any available dates for the entire 2026 season.
Demand tends to be strong. On the first day reservations opened last year, the online system handled more than 7,000 bookings.
Instead of releasing campsites gradually, the organization uses a full-season launch model. That means campers can choose dates throughout the season, May through November, at select campgrounds, and even secure multiple trips in one session.
The sites themselves offer a range of experiences. Visitors can choose basic campsites, waterfront and premium waterfront spots, as well as serviced sites with electricity (15, 30, or 50 amps). Some locations also offer two- or three-service sites with water, electricity, and sewer hookups.

For those looking for something different, several roofed accommodations are available. Options include Prospector Tents, Suspended Tree Tents, cabins, Adventure Ready Campers, and a Family Lodge designed for larger groups.
New additions this season include fully outfitted Adventure Ready Campers, additional Prospector Tents, and new premium waterfront walk-in sites. The Suspended Tree Tents at the Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary offer an elevated setup among the trees, complete with two suspended tents, a private deck, a firepit, a picnic table, a charcoal barbecue, and shoreline access.
Not every campground will be available. Mille Roches Campground, Snetsinger Island, and the Mille Roches Beach and Day Use Area will remain closed for 2026 while major infrastructure upgrades are completed.
Camping fees vary by site type. Basic campsites start at $39.99 per night, while waterfront sites begin at $51.54 and premium waterfront sites cost about $63.08. Serviced sites range from $50.06 to $69.27, depending on the availability of electrical and utility hookups. Roofed accommodations are higher, including Prospector Tents at $140, Adventure Ready Campers at $225, and Suspended Tree Tents at $120 per night. A $13.25 reservation fee and a $11.25 change or cancellation fee also apply.
Parks of the St. Lawrence operates 10 campgrounds and six day-use areas across Eastern Ontario.
