The SaskPower Windscape Kite Festival, set against the picturesque Saskatchewan sky, returns for the 2024 edition featuring Kinetic Wind Sculpture Garden, and over 40 celebrity kite flyers and makers from around the globe.
Taking place at Windscape Kite Field in Swift Current on June 22 and 23, this celebrated event stands out for its diverse array of kites, flown by celebrities of the kite world who have showcased their skills at major international festivals.

The festival is not just about kite flying; it’s a family-friendly event packed with activities. From the TD Bank Children’s Tent filled with engaging activities for children of all ages, such as kite building workshops where everyone, guided by experienced volunteers, can make their own kites, to bubble stations, face painting, and obstacle courses, the event has something for everyone.
Beyond the children’s tent, the festival promises attendees two days filled with excitement, offering candy catapults, stunt kite flying lessons, scavenger hunts, and much more.
For a minimal fee, participants can enjoy additional activities like the Mystery Sandpile, ‘Running with the Bols’, and creating art at the Splatter Mural, with Windscape Bucks available for purchase.
Not to be missed is the Kinetic Wind Sculpture Garden, an open-air gallery featuring local artists’ wind-driven creations. From prayer flags to silverware mobiles, the garden is a celebration of movement and sound, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a world where art and nature merge beautifully under the expansive prairie sky.
