7-Eleven Canada is once again partnering with Food Banks Canada through its Slurpee Name Your Price Day, allowing customers to set their own price for a large Slurpee, with a minimum contribution of $0.50. All proceeds will go directly to food banks nationwide.

The event takes place on September 18.
In 2024, it generated $57,614 through the sale of 43,637 Slurpees. Alberta led provincial donations, accounting for nearly a third of the total. British Columbia posted the highest average donation per cup at $1.46, with Vanderhoof’s Burrard Avenue store setting the national record at $3.35 per drink. Ontario’s Windsor location at 278 Tecumseh Road East raised $471.89 and sold 466 drinks, the most of any store. Winnipeg’s Portage Avenue location followed with $439.61 in donations.
The fundraiser comes amid worsening food insecurity across Canada. More than two million people rely on food banks each month. Alberta reported 118,640 users in March 2024, with children making up 35 per cent. Food bank visits in British Columbia have risen 81 per cent since 2019, while Saskatchewan has seen a 42.1 per cent increase. Manitoba now records over 50,000 visits monthly, and one million Ontarians accessed food banks in 2024–2025, nearly half for the first time.
“It is an incredibly difficult time for so many across the country,” said Erin Filey-Wronecki, Chief Development and Partnerships Officer at Food Banks Canada, urging Canadians to participate in the campaign.
Customers can also round up purchases to the next dollar at 7-Eleven stores until October 28, 2025, with proceeds going to local food banks.
