On the heels of Calgary Stampede Board cancelling 2020 Calgary Stampede, Calgary Folk Fest organisers has announced that the 2020 edition will not be taking place as scheduled on July 23 – 26, 2020 at Prince’s Island Park.
Announcing the cancellation, the organisers said, “The pandemic paused the presentation of the live music that fuels our diverse community. So, with heavy hearts, we need to share that we have to cancel the 41st annual Festival on Prince’s Island Park due to circumstances surrounding COVID-19. We know it is tough news for our folk family. We care deeply about our community and everyone’s health, safety and well being. We support all public health efforts to return to normal and to be able to safely gather again.”
TICKETS & REFUNDS
Calgary Folk Fest organizers have said that all those who want their tickets refunded can request for a full refund. But, those who want to donate their tickets to the Calgary Folk Music Festival will get a charitable tax receipt for the generous contribution.
The organisers have asked for 30 days from submission for refunds and said tickets will be automatically refunded to you once the form closes.
Calgary Folk Music Festival is one of Canada’s flagship, trailblazing music festivals held annually since 1980 at the beautiful Prince’s Island Park in Calgary.
Many Alberta festivals including Calgary Expo, K-Days, Taste of Edmonton, Edmonton Folk Festival, and Edmonton Fringe Festival are also cancelled due to COVID-19.
