As the weather warms up and summer approaches, it’s time to plan your outdoor adventures in Nova Scotia’s provincial parks.

From stunning beaches to majestic mountains, these parks offer a diverse range of natural beauty and recreational opportunities for visitors. With the upcoming Victoria Day weekend, several camping and day-use parks are set to open, marking the beginning of another exciting season.
The provincial parks will begin opening on Friday, May 15, just in time for the Victoria Day weekend. Picture yourself surrounded by gorgeous views, peaceful surroundings, and beautiful beaches. By early June, all provincial parks are expected to be open, providing ample opportunities for exploration throughout the season.
All day-use parks will be operational starting May 15, while camping parks will have staggered opening dates. Day-use parks will be open until October 12, 2026.
Some camping parks, including Blomidon, Cape Chignecto, Ellenwood Lake, Graves Island, Porters Lake, Rissers Beach, and Thomas Raddall, will open on May 15. Mira River camping park will open on May 29, and several others, including Amherst Shore, Battery, Boylston, Caribou-Munroes Island, and Dollar Lake, will open on June 7.
