The unique event called Pumpinferno debuted in Upper Canada Village 12 years ago. It then expanded to various locations, some in collaboration with St. Lawrence Parks and some by private entities.
St. Lawrence Parks Commission debuted Pumpkinferno in Kingston in 2021.
Both events by the St. Lawrence Parks Commission are back this year, offering visitors plenty of autumn-themed fun to welcome the new season. The Kingston location will return to Ontario’s historic jail, Kingston Penitentiary. Fort Henry will see the return of the scary “Fort Fright” Halloween Haunt.
Head to the Kingston Penitentiary to check out this unique and fun festival. As soon as the sun goes down, you can explore the limestone walls to find fully lit pumpkin sculptures. There will also be an interactive fun zone that’s sure to be a hit if you’re bringing the kids with you.
In 2024, Pumpkinferno in Upper Canada Village is entering its 13th year.
The event near Ottawa will feature more than 9000 brilliant pumpkin sculpture exhibits, including brand new exhibits installed along a 1 km route in the pioneer village. The experience is approximately 40 minutes.
Dining options are abundant at Upper Canada Village during the event, providing a delightful culinary experience to accompany your outing. Willard’s Hotel and Harvest Barn are open for service, offering reservations beginning at 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm respectively, with a 7:00 pm entry ticket to Pumpkinferno. To reserve your spot at either of the venues, reach out at 613-330-9266. If you are craving BeaverTails, the shop will be open, too.
Pumpkinfernos at both places will kick off on September 27th.
This is the perfect place to bring the whole family if you want Halloween-themed fun this year. If you and your significant other love the season, then this could be the perfect date for you to go on. So get the tickets for one or both locations.
