The airline initially launched daily flights for the summer 2025 schedule and is extending the frequency due to strong performance on the route.
The expanded winter schedule will run from October 27, 2025, to March 29, 2026, following the summer period of March 30 to October 26. The route’s success has been noted on both sides of the Pacific.
In addition to the route expansion, WestJet has broadened its codeshare agreement with Japan Airlines. Passengers flying from Calgary to Tokyo can now book extended connections to Osaka (Itami Airport) and Nagoya through Narita. These bookings will include baggage transfer and the opportunity to earn WestJet Dollars throughout the journey.
Founded in 1996, WestJet has grown from a small fleet of three aircraft to a major carrier with nearly 200 aircraft and over 14,000 employees. Following its integration with Sunwing in 2025, WestJet now serves more than 100 destinations across multiple continents.
