The three-day event begins Friday evening at Meridian Place with a pilot meet-and-greet at 8 p.m., followed by live entertainment, a drone show sponsored by Pratt Homes and Commissionaires at 9:45 p.m., and a public screening of Top Gun.
Saturday and Sunday programming runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. across Barrie’s downtown and waterfront areas, featuring military displays by CFB Borden, family-friendly activities, vendors, and food stalls. A licensed area hosted by Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Heritage Park.
The Muskoka Extreme Water Show begins daily at noon off Heritage Park, followed by the airshow starting at 1 p.m. Performers include the CF-18 Tactical Demonstration Team, the Canadian Armed Forces SkyHawks Parachute Team, and a CH-146 Griffon Helicopter demonstration. Civilian acts feature solo aerobatic pilot Trevor Rafferty, Show Cat Wing Walking, the T-33 Red Knight, and aircraft from the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association and Edenvale Classic Aircraft Foundation.
Barrie Transit will provide free shuttle service from Sadlon Arena, H-Block Parking Lot, and several other stops between 9:40 a.m. and 5:50 p.m. on both weekend days. Free downtown parking is available after 5 p.m. on weekdays and throughout the weekend. Waterfront parking is $10 per hour, capped at $50 daily, with Barrie residents eligible for free parking through a digital permit.
For the best viewing experience, head to Heritage Park, Centennial Park, or one of the small parks along the shores of Kempenfelt Bay. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even catch the action from a boat. Just make sure to stay east of the safety line between Brentwood Marine and Johnson’s Beach to ensure everyone’s safety.
The airshow is not the only event taking place in the city this weekend; the Barrie Jazz & Blues Festival runs until June 16th, featuring some of the best Canadian and International Jazz and Blues musicians.
See you there!
