100 Years of RCAF: Canadian International Air Show Announces Headliners For the 2024 Aerial Spectacle

The Canadian International Air Show (CIAS), Canada’s premier air show, is set to celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2024.

This landmark event will coincide with the centenary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), promising a spectacular display of aerial prowess over Toronto’s Waterfront.

The 2024 air show will feature headline performances from the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the CF-18 Demonstration Team, the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, and the United States Air Force F-22 Raptor, highlighting a tradition of excellence in aviation.

Since its inception in 1946, CIAS has grown to become North America’s longest-running air show, attracting over a million spectators to Toronto each Labour Day weekend.

Over the decades, CIAS has presented numerous milestones, including its first show in 1948, the adoption of its official name in 1955, and landmark appearances by significant aircraft and individuals in aviation history. Notable moments include the Antonov An-2’s debut in 2014, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for its lengthy production run, and Canadian astronaut Dr. Dave Williams carrying a CIAS patch into space in 1998.

Tickets are slated for release in May 2024, marking the continuation of a legacy that celebrates the history, achievements, and future of aviation in Canada and beyond.
