It certainly doesn’t feel like the sort of place to exist in Maple Ridge, but rather a place you might stroll into on Granville street downtown Vancouver. The food is as impressive as the ambiance. With vegan and gluten-free options aplenty, there is something on this creative menu for everyone. Seafood lovers rejoice, this is a good spot for you! Note: Chameleon is the most expensive restaurant on the list.

2. Il Corsaro Pasta bar
Stop in to the pasta bar that has been in business for forty two years. They obviously know they’re way around a good noodle and a delectable sauce! You’ll love the ambiance in this small but welcoming spot. The best part? The walking score is excellent. Wander down Dewdney or 224th after or before dinner and pop into some other local hot spots for a drink. Breweries and bars all within five minute walking distance.

3. Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill
Amazing food, live entertainment, and a view is what sets this restaurant apart from all the others. Right on the edge of the Fraser River, Kingfishers is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink while the sun sets. Try a float of beer before tucking into your meal. Kingfishers is British Columbia forward, which means everything they serve is quality and local.

4. Big Smoke
Carnivores rejoice. This is for you. Big Smoke meats are smoked at low temperatures for long periods of time with cherry and hickory woods to bring out all the right flavors. You won’t regret ordering any of the pulled pork menu items. Better yet, treat yourself to some brisket! This is a family-friendly spot that is proud to offer menu items for every dietary need.

5. Billy Miner Alehouse & Cafe The food is as epic here as the building’s history. Looking for a bit of town nostalgia? Come to the Billy Miner. Enjoy the live music, trivia and music bingo nights, and the backdrop of the Fraser River just across the street. Also, you may have a train or two go roaring past. It’s part of the charm. Trains have been crossing those same tracks for over a hundred years! While you enjoy one of Maple Ridge’s best burgers as your server about old man Billy Miner, a somewhat Robin Hood character of his time.

6. La Trattoria
As soon as you set foot in this little restaurant you’ll think you’ve been magically transported to a Tuscan town. This charming little spot offers a wide variety of wines to pair with your pasta (gluten free pasta, appetizers, and entrees available). Open since 1988, this rustic spot has been popular for families for generations.

Do you like Thai food? Ban Chok Dee has won countless awards for its menu. With curries that will tantalize and delight your taste buds and an ambiance you won’t want to part from, Ban Chok Dee is a must visit restaurant in Maple Ridge. With traditional Thai ingredients you will truly be able to savor all the intricate flavors in each dish. You’ll be craving Ban Chok Dee within days of your visit. That’s a promise!

8. Black Sheep Public House
The Black Sheep might not allow minors, but aside from that, this is a pub that welcomes all! Looking for a fun night out with drinks? The Black Sheep has you covered. Keen on lunch followed by a walk through Maple Ridge Park along Alouette Creek? You’ve got it. The Black Sheep has a massive menu with endless options (probably because people keep coming back so much they need to have such a big variety!).

9. Socrates Grill Socrates has been a staple in Maple Ridge since it was opened in 1993 by a Greek couple with the know how of how to build an exceptional menu and restaurant. It is no longer in the same ownership, but it is still family owned and the menu is as delicious as ever. Traditional greek dishes mixed with lip smacking pasta dishes makes for the perfect combination in this family friendly, modern, quiet restaurant. Try the garlic prawn souvlaki or penne alfredo. It’s a delight!

10. Browns Socialhouse
Browns Maple Ridge is a mood. With a menu full of delicious goodies like the Dragon Bowl or the Crispy Fried Chicken Ramen, you will leave your evening feeling more than satisfied. Enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant; with dim lighting, modern finishings, and what can only be called ‘mood lighting’, you may want to snap a pic or two for the gram. If you roll like that. If you’d rather be present in the moment there’s more than enough room for that, too. In fact, it’s encouraged! Sit at the bar and mingle or snag a spot in the year round enclosed patio. You’ll be ready to come back for round two as soon as you leave!

Are you craving a brick oven pizza? Then Townhall is the place for you. With delicious cocktails and daily specials you can’t go wrong. There’s more: Townhall is a community public house with something happening almost every week. Stop by on a Monday night for weekly Trivia. Townhall Maple Ridge has hosted themed Trivia Nights in the past, including but not limited to Harry Potter, The Office, and much more. There are even Family Feud nights if you’re looking to show your relatives who among you is truly the sharpest tool in the shed. Tip: If you like deep fried pickles, you have to try them at Townhall.

This is ethical eating at its best. Big Feast is a treasure in this community with Oceanwise certified sea foods and local sustainable meats. This hot spot prides itself on having Vegan and gluten free options aplenty that are equally (if not more) delicious than their menu counterparts. Come for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and experience the experience that is Big Feast. Eating alone? Tuck in to their community table and meet other people there to enjoy the good eats! One more thing- give the Baked Cheesy Brussels a try! They come with plenty to share.

13. Paliotti’s Italian Restaurant
Paliotti’s has been a yummy treasure trove in Maple Ridge for over thirty years. Family owned since its very beginning, this restaurant will knock your socks off with its pasta dishes. But don’t stop there. Every dish at Paliotti’s is drool worthy. The Chicken Marsala or Chicken Parmesan are sure to make your stomach a happy camper. Looking for something a little bolder? Try the Carpetbagger, a New York steak packed with fresh crab meat and then topped off with a mushroom, cheese and onion sauce. Is your mouth watering yet?
