AGORA: Path of Light is an outdoor interactive night walk experience created by an incredible team across Canada showcasing the spirit of the forest and cycles of life in nature through the language of light and sound.

The experience begins when you take the open-air gondola ride to the top of the hill. From there, you will explore a lighted trail highlighting indigenous teachings and various aspects of the forests, such as keystone species from the mushrooms that dot the forest floor to the pack wolves that rule the woods.

The interactive light walk installation is based on the five elements of air, space, earth, water and fire.

Themed Armonia, this year’s interactive night walk experience delves deep into the intricate network of keystone species, from mushrooms forming the forest bed to wolves reigning in the woods.

The installation utilizes an impressive system of LED lights that crisscross beneath a wooden boardwalk to mimic the mushroom root system and cast light on the lifelike wolves in the background, fostering a rich narrative centred around the forest’s heartbeat.

The realization of this project is the product of a collaborative endeavour involving some of the most esteemed professionals from various fields. The team, convened by Limbic Media from Victoria BC, leaders in interactive art and light technology, includes notables such as Edesia Moreno Barata, acclaimed for her contributions to Cirque du Soleil, and poet Marie Metaphor Specht, among others.

AGORA: Path of Light

What:

AGORA is an unusual and magical space inspired by storytellers and cycles of life in nature. As participants walk this circular path, they will encounter a series of interactive lighting installations based on the five elements of air, space, earth, water and fire.

Visit AGORA this season to explore the luminous installation, which explores the importance of keystone species, from the mushrooms that dot the forest floor to the pack wolves that rule the woods. A network of LED light strings criss-cross from underneath a wooden boardwalk, simulating the root system that mushrooms create and illuminating the wolves that hide in the background.
