All Albertans 12 years and older can book appointments for COVID-19 vaccine starting today.
Appointments are available to anyone born on or before 2009 starting Monday, May 10th at 8:00 a.m. via Alberta Health Services or a participating pharmacy.
Alberta leads the Prairie provinces in being the first to take COVID-19 vaccine bookings for pre-teens.
For the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, the province lowered the minimum age to 40 from 55. For those living in the hot spots of Banff and Lake Louise as well as the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, the age for AstraZeneca is 30.
More than 250 pharmacies are offering immunizations. Ten physician clinics across the province are also providing shots as part of a pilot project.
About 15,000 workers at 136 meat-packing plants across the province can also get shots at on-site clinics, pharmacies and clinics.
