Alberta businesses can now apply for the $20-million Restrictions Exemption Program Implementation Grant which provides financial support to businesses implementing Restrictions Exemption Program.
REP Implementation Grant is a one-time payment of $2,000 to Alberta small and medium-sized businesses that are eligible for and choose to implement the Restrictions Exemption Program, requiring proof of vaccination, a negative test result or medical exemption.
As per the news release, all eligible businesses, cooperatives and non-profit organizations can use the funding as they see fit.
Who is eligible & how to apply:
To apply for the implementation grant, organizations must:

- be on the list of eligible in-scope operators of organizations
- implement the Restrictions Exemption Program consistently as part of daily operations
- verify proof of vaccination, a recent negative COVID-19 test or proof of medical exemption for patrons age 12 and older
- be a permanent establishment in Alberta
- employ fewer than 500 employees
Alberta says organizations must ensure all of their information is complete and correct when applying. Incorrect or incomplete information may delay receipt of payment or cause the applicant to be denied payment.
All applicants must have a MyAlberta Digital ID account and should apply for the grant using the id.
Approved applicants will receive funds via Electronic Fund Transfer directly into their bank account.
