The wait is over!

Ontario Parks staff plans to open the 1.3km long outdoor skating trail in Arrowhead Provincial Park that winds through snow-draped Muskoka forest for night skating beginning January 16.

The skating trail is now open for daytime use from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Night skating (Fire and Ice Nights) opens on January 16 (weather dependent). Fire and Ice Nights allows you to explore the skating trail at night when the trail is lit with hundreds of tiki torches.

Fire and Ice nights will be open every Friday and Saturday night from 6 pm to 9 pm, weather permitting, and will run from January 16 to February 28, 2026.

Fire and Ice nights are extremely popular and sell out in advance. You can reserve up to five days in advance.

Although reservations are not required for day skating, to ensure guaranteed admission to the park due to capacity restrictions, purchase a vehicle permit in advance.

Other winter activities at Arrowhead Provincial Park include more than 32 km of cross-country ski trails for classic or skate skiing, winter camping, snowshoeing, hiking, and events such as the Muskoka Loppet, organized by Friends of Arrowhead Provincial Park.

Snowshoes, ice skates and cross-country ski rentals are available at the park store.
