The Nagar Kirtan parade in Calgary is set to take place on Saturday, May 10, attracting participants from all corners of the city and the province.

Hosted annually by the Sikh Community, the second-largest annual parade in Alberta celebrates a sense of community and equality while providing an excellent opportunity for people to learn more about the Sikh culture.
The procession will begin at 10 a.m. at the Dashmesh Culture Centre and wind its way through the streets, concluding at Prairie Winds Park at around 2:30pm.
The Nagar Kirtan parade promises a visual spectacle, with participants adorned in colourful attire singing holy hymns called Shabads and showcasing traditional martial arts known as Gatka.

Nagar Kirtan festivities will take place at Prairie Winds Park from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Parade Route:
The parade starts at Dashmesh Culture Centre, travels east along Martindale Blvd NE, turns south on Falconridge Blvd NE, turns west on Castleridge NE and to 54 Ave, ending at Prairie Winds Park (Castleridge Blvd NE and 54th Street NE).
Road Closures:
To facilitate the smooth flow of the Nagar Kirtan parade, several road closures and lane reductions will be in effect along the designated route from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Martindale Boulevard N.E. will be closed between Martinbrook Road N.E. and Falconridge Boulevard N.E.
- Falconridge Boulevard N.E. will be reduced to a single northbound lane between Taradale Drive N.E. / Martindale Boulevard N.E. to
- Castleridge Boulevard N.E. / Falconridge Drive N.E. There will be no southbound traffic on Falconridge Boulevard N.E. south of Taracove Estate Drive N.E.
- 64 Avenue N.E. will be closed between Martindale Gate N.E. and Falconridge Boulevard N.E.
- Castleridge Boulevard N.E. will be closed between Falconridge Boulevard N.E. and Westwinds Crescent N.E.
- 54 Avenue N.E. will be closed between Castleridge Boulevard N.E. and Westwinds Drive N.E.
Temporary parking restrictions will be in place on Martindale Boulevard N.E. between Martinbrook Road N.E. and Falconridge Boulevard N.E., as well as on 54 Avenue N.E. between Castleridge Boulevard N.E. and Westwinds Drive N.E.
Attendees are reminded not to prevent parking fines or vehicle towing, avoid parking on McKnight Blvd/Metis Tr N.E., on private property such as Superstore or Shaw, within 5 meters of Stop or Yield signs, within 1.5 meters of alley entrances or driveways, and in a way that blocks alley access.
Free Transit:
Calgarians are encouraged to utilize Calgary’s bus and train services, parking their vehicles at C-train parking lots and taking the train to McKnight Westwinds Station to reach Prairie Winds Park.
Calgary Transit is providing free charter bus routes to cater to attendees’ transportation needs. With various routes available, parade-goers can select the most suitable option based on their location. Shuttle buses will be available in several neighbourhoods, such as Coral Springs, Cornerstone/Redstone, Panorama, Saddleridge, Skyview Ranch, and Temple.

All this information is great except you give no information regarding entering or exiting the community of Castleridge. There should be at least one way for residents to enter or exit! It is very unfair of the parade organizers to disrespect the community residents.
