Events Description
The Mountain Wave Classic is the only River Surfing Competition in Western Canada. Athletes will showcase their best tricks on the Mountain wave, a standalone wave in the heart of the Rockies.
This year will be the 22nd edition and athletes (male and female) will compete and win the trophies of Best River Surfer 2026. This year’s edition will follow strict international judging criteria and will offer the opportunity to make River surfing known to a growing audience.
River surfing is exploding in Europe with the construction of about 30 waves this year, the creation of a river surfing league (rapid surf league – here) and the first Europe Vs North America competition (here) last year.

Tickets : Free
Spectators are encouraged to come out to the Mountain Wave on Saturday August 22 from 10am to 4pm to cheer on the athletes for free!
