Events Description
Our new temporary exhibition “A Sense of Place” brings together a vibrant collection of artworks by members of the Calgary Sketch & Painting Club alongside three featured works from the Calgary Public Art Collection. Through painting and drawing, the exhibition explores the landscapes, communities, and personal connections that shape how we experience place.
The Calgary Sketch and Painting Club was founded in 1909 and has been supporting and nurturing artists in the Calgary area ever since.
Join us on June 16 from 6–8 pm for the exhibit opening reception and an evening of art, conversation, and community. The event will feature a cash bar, complimentary appetizers, and remarks from Historian & Adjunct Curator Kay Burns and members of the Calgary Sketch Club, offering insight into the inspiration and stories behind the works on display.
Guests will have a chance to watch artists sketch and paint in a live demonstration.
Admission is free, and all are welcome.
